1. Who we are

Grynde is a personal productivity app for habits, tasks, journaling, and AI-assisted thinking. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data we collect

When you create an account or use Grynde, we collect:

  • Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign up via email or Google.
  • Habits — habit names, frequency settings, and daily completion records.
  • Tasks — task titles, notes, due dates, and completion status.
  • Journal entries — the text you write in the Journal tab.
  • Spar conversations — messages you send to and receive from the AI in the Spar tab.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the Grynde service:

  • To display your habits, tasks, and journal entries to you.
  • To calculate habit streaks and progress.
  • To power the Spar AI feature — your messages are sent to the Google Gemini API to generate responses. Gemini processes your messages in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any third party except as described above.

4. Data storage

All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is secured using Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules — only you can access your own data.

5. Your rights

  • Access — you can view all your data within the app at any time.
  • Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the account menu in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
  • Portability — contact us to request a copy of your data.

6. Cookies & tracking

Grynde does not use cookies or any third-party analytics or tracking tools. Firebase Authentication uses browser local storage to maintain your session.

7. Children

Grynde is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
